Tried to install step by step - as the manual installation

Postby SamuiInfotech » 15 Sep 2015, 03:33

I tried to install the latest version as the description in the manual installation.

But I get a white blank screen after trying to open the login page...

What can I check?

Is there a reason you didn't want to try the automatic install?

After unzipping it on your host, simply going to that folder in your browser will walk you through a simple instillation process.

Otherwise, can you at least tell us what environment you are in? i.e. Apache and PHP versions. Connecting to mySQL or Postgres etc.

I got the same problem. In the screen immediately before you get this error message you need to enter the password for the root user of the database. I was entering the password for another user in the database. It seems at this point you have to use the root user and you have to make sure the password is correct

I tried again to install vfront.

Again - I got a blank screen, after the installtion. Also - when it ask to create tables, this is not working, so I did the manual installation.

But still - a blank screen.

try looking in here: vfront\files\db\error_log.txt
Also try turning debug on in vfront\conf\conf.vfront.php (debug info will be in \vfront\rpc\rpc.debug.txt)

I'm not sure if either of those will show anything when attempting to open the login page - but worth a go.

Then I guess start putting debug statements in \vfront\index.php to see at which point it fails.
